.:Festival Background

Los Angeles - AFI FEST presented by Audi is the longest-running film festival in Los Angeles and one of the most influential film festivals in North America.  Celebrating 21 years in 2007, the Festival emerged from FILMEX, LA's first film festival, still celebrated for the exceptional range of films it brought to light.  AFI FEST presented by Audi features a rich slate of films from emerging filmmakers, nightly red-carpet gala premieres and global showcases of the latest work from the great film masters.  AFI FEST presented by Audi continues to connect audiences to the best in contemporary cinema, all right in the heart of Hollywood.

Palm Springs - AFI Comes to Palm Springs is in its 8th year at the Camelot Theatres.  Each year the programmers of AFI Fest presented by Audi, Los Angeles select five to seven films to showcase in Palm Springs over a three-day period.  The partnership between AFI and the Camelot Theatres lends a unique opportunity for Coachella Valley residents to see several major releases, independent and foreign language films before their commercial release date.
